expert One to one Ironman Coaching
Precision coaching to handle the unique demands of the full Ironman distance.
Ironman training can quickly become an source of stress.
Balancing training across three disciplines with a demanding life often leads to exhaustion and constant self-doubt. Without a trusted sounding board, you are left navigating the data and decisions alone, frequently wondering if your hard work is actually helping or just wearing you down.
Our coaching replaces that isolation with a collaborative partnership and a clear, science-informed structure.
We handle the planning burden while providing consistent personal contact and reassurance, adapting the training dynamically to fit the realities of your week. This relationship-led approach means you never have to guess or train in a vacuum, giving you the objective support and belief needed to get to the start line healthy, calm, and fully prepared.
Training for your First Ironman?
If you are taking on your first Ironman, your thoughts will be about managing the unknown and building the stamina to finish safely.
You don’t need complicated performance metrics; you need a realistic, step-by-step plan that fits around your job and family without wearing you down.
Together, we focus on building your distance safely, practicing your race-day nutrition, and discussing points that will make everything less overwhelming on the day.
Looking to PB or Qualify for kona?
If you want to beat your personal best or hunt for a World Championship place, adding more training hours without a plan usually leads to injury or exhaustion.
Your focus needs to shift from finishing to absolute precision. Together, we look closely at your past race data, find the specific weak spots that are holding you back, and make sure every hour you train counts to give you the performance advantage you haven’t found yet.
We work as a team to get the absolute most out of your limited time.
The Risks of Unstructured Ironman Training
Many ambitious Ironman athletes and aspiring long-distance competitors fall into the trap of grey zone training.
Without a dedicated coach to navigate this immense volume, busy professionals often face:
Decision Fatigue: Waking up unsure how to logistically fit critical 5-hour endurance rides, long swims, and multi-hour brick sessions around demanding work and family commitments.
Plateaued Performance: Watching your marathon pace drop drastically during the second half of the run, or repeating the same race-day finish times despite increasing your total weekly training hours.
Injury and Burnout Risk: Developing overuse injuries or chronic fatigue as the peak training blocks demand higher mileage, leading to missed weeks of consistency right before race day.
Isolation: Second-guessing whether a single missed workout will ruin your entire race, and navigating the mental anxiety of the distance without an objective sounding board to adjust the plan and reassure you.

Chris provided a great route map for me through the usual challenges which occur prior to any event: work, illness, family etc, and adapted my sets and sessions without any drama.
He supported these changes with reassuring words that I was still making the progress required, not to panic and trust the process.
Training for an Ironman can be a lonely activity and an experienced knowledgeable supporting voice through that journey was invaluable tome ultimately achieving my objective.

A Professional Approach to Triathlon Coaching
Efficient Endurance is about working together to handle the big commitment of training for an Ironman. We combine proven training methods with your knowledge of your own schedule, career, and body. By checking in constantly and making decisions as a team, we make sure your training fits your life, so you can stand on the start line feeling healthy, calm, and fully prepared.
How We Work Together
Planning Your Season: We look at your target race and map out the months ahead. Together, we break the year down into manageable blocks—from building your basic aerobic fitness to handling specific back-to-back weekend sessions. We agree on the layout together so the training always feels realistic around your work and family life.
Building Your Weekly Plan: Your sessions are set up in TrainingPeaks based on the time you actually have available. We establish your individual swimming, cycling, and running paces together. This is a two-way process; we adjust the length and intensity of the workouts based on how your body responds and how your week unfolds.
Staying in Touch: Through regular WhatsApp messages and a weekly review, we manage the plan side-by-side. If a busy week at work gets in the way or you feel unusually tired, we talk it through and change the schedule together. You never have to worry about how to modify a long ride or run on your own; we handle it as a team.
Reviewing Your Progress: We look at your training data and your feedback together to see how you are improving. This is a supportive look at what is working well and what needs tweaking. By reviewing things together, you learn to understand your own data, build your confidence in handling the distance, and stay fully involved in every decision leading up to race day.

“Chris helped me no end up to Ironman Copenhagen. I had a back injury early in training which was managed really well.
My cycling performance in particular has improved and I’m really enjoying the sessions.
I have already booked my next Ironman with a plan in place to go even faster.”

Focus on the Finish, Not the Planning
The goal of Ironman coaching is to remove the constant anxiety that shadows a 140.6-mile build-up. Together, we address the exact worries that keep athletes awake—whether that is panicking about the open water swim, fearing a late-race energy crash on the marathon, or constantly second-guessing if you have trained enough to survive the distance.
When the plan we build is clear and we are talking regularly, the guesswork disappears. Whether you are tackling your first Ironman or returning to fix a past race, handling these worries together ensures you step onto the start line feeling calm, in control, and completely ready.
